Will connectors be supplied with Tachtrol units?

Yes

Does Tachtrol Plus have memory?

Only enough to service locally stored configuration parameters. None that is user accessible.

Does Tachtrol have any capability to display graphic information (plots, etc)?

No, use Tachlink.

Does programming using TT only save the information on the unit, or can it be sent to a computer for storage possibly through Tachlink?

Active configuration information is stored at the tachometer, TT or TP. The same information can be stored as a database file on a PC, then used as backup, to program multiple tachs, send through e-mail to another site, etc.

Can the IR Remote be used in an intrinsically safe environment?

The remote itself does not carry any hazardous location ratings. The area must be made safe prior to use. (not intrinsically safe)

Is AI-Tek willing to program explosion proof TP units for a charge as a value-add service?

AI-Tek does not program tachs.

Is TP only available in Din Rail?

Yes, however there are features on the side of the instrument enclosure that would allow secure, flat mounting to a bracket and no, we don't offer that as a kit.

Has TP/TT been tested for vibration?

Yes, per MIL and IEC standards. See applicable product specification for details.

Does AI-Tek provide boring out gear service?

No

Does TP/TT store any data before plotting is started (can data before request to plot be recovered)?

No, data is recorded prior to request. The Plotting function is set up and runs on TACHLINK. Recorded data is stored on the host PC.

Can the unit be programmed to start storing data when we first get analarm situation?

No, it must be set manually, ahead of time. Plotting is not linked to the alarms, so when Plotting is set, the user must make sure they input meaningful levels for thresholds.

If you have four or five TPís that you want to program off the same Tachlink installation, how can they be arranged; how does Tachlink recognize the TP it is looking at?

Only one tach can be connected at a time. When the first tach is configured, save the Database. Connect the remaining tachs one by one, load in the database, save it to the Tach and repeat.

Will Tachlink be loaded onto the website and updated as we make improvements?

Tachlink is on the website now. Each tach also has firmware that can be updated if necessary, but only at the factory.

Is TP/TT certified for electro-magnetic compatibility?

Yes. TP and TT are CE rated under 2004/108/EC. See applicable product specification for details.

How do I calibrate my analog output?

AO calibration must be done through TACHLINK. If you start the procedure you must finish. A simple, detailed procedure is available on the website. Click on Literature. Look for the title ìAO calî under Download technical help.

My analog output is no longer accurate or seems to be stuck on a single value.

I purchased a TP or TT 30 and cannot program my analog output or Solid State relays. The fields in TACHLINK are either missing or grayed-out.

The tach probably has a TP or TT 10 database installed. A simple, detailed Procedure is available on the website. Click on Literature. Look for the title ìDB Correctionî under Download technical help.

I purchased a TT 10, 30 or plus and the display reads ìDisplay is Offlineî.

The display address is probably not set correctly. A simple, detailed procedure is available on our website. Click on Literature. Look for the title ìOfflineî under Download technical help.

I have Windows 7 and cannot get TACHLINK to install or I cannot communicate with the tach and may get the message ìNo AI-Tek Tachometer device foundî.

TACHLINK will run on Windows 2000, XP and 7, 32 bit. It is not rated to run on any 64 bit systems. A simple, detailed procedure is available to aid the installation process for W7 32bit on our website. Click on Literature. Look for the title ìW7 installationî under Download technical help. You may also require the USB drivers. Look for the ìFTDI USB Driversî under Download Software.

My old TP3 had four mechanical relays and the new TP/TT 30 has 2 mechanical and 2 solid state relays. What can I do to add more mechanicalrelays or increase the contact rating?

External relays can be triggered by internal tach relays. An example of what can be done is available from our website. Click on Literature. Look for the title ìTP30 Ex Wiring + Relaysî under Download technical help.

My old TP3 had a 0-1 ma meter driver output. How do I get that from the TP / TT30?

The first suggestion is to switch from the old analog meter to the TTplus remote display that communicates digitally over a proprietary network with the tachometer. The second option allows the user to keep the analog meter. Use the 0-20 AO range and scale the maximum value to be 20 times the actual requirement. This will provide 1mA at the applicationís max speed.

How do I connect my sensor to AI-Tek tachometers?

Refer to the Quick Start Guide included with each tachometer or look in the manual included on the TACHLINK installation disk or download from our website. Click on Literature. Look for the title ìTACHPAK and TACHTROL Operations Manualî under Download documents. Additional information can be obtained from our website. Click on Literature.
